Description
Rue features removable three-piece inserts with comfy head support, body support and an infant wedge, along with breathable knit fabrics. The UPF 50+ canopy protects skin and adds extra privacy.
For grown-ups, the ergonomic handle has an adjustable positioning to make toting more comfortable. When there’s a mess, the removable cover is easy to take off for machine washing.
The compatible base includes built-in lower anchor attachments that lock firmly to your vehicle’s points, so installation is both quick and secure.
To create a travel system, Rue connects to most Joie strollers with adapters (or directly to the arm bar on Nutmeg) so you can switch between driving and walking without disturbing baby.
Rue has an anti-rebound bar built into the base to reduce movement in the event of a crash. Rue is also tested to the newest safety standards (FMVSS 213a and 213b) with side impact protection.

Don't choose if you need additional bases!
Up until Joie decided to discontinue selling a specific Rue base and move to their Base AR, I would have given this seat at 4 star review, decent no frills seat, lightweight, love the green. However, they discontinued the Rue specific base and moved to the universal "Base AR" which is constantly out of stock on Joie's website, Babylist, and Target. Saved our babies life!
I bought a couple of months ago and we ended up having to throw away bc we got in a rly bad car accident. But this car seat def saved our babies life! We spun out, rolled, and flipped and this car seat didn’t budge an inch. Our baby didn’t have a single bruise or scratch on him. Will def be buying again with our second.

No shoulder strap cushion
I love everything about this car seat, except the fact that there is no padding on the straps. I believe all of the other Joie infant car seats have them. The straps dig into her neck. She gets out of the car seat with red marks on her skin for hours, and cries when we buckle her in. We
have been pulling her shirts up and using that as a divider between her skin and the straps. I love Joie and think I would just go for another one of their infant seats over this one for that reason.

Light weight
I love this carseat. It has tons of padding for my 2 month old and she instantly falls asleep as soon as i put her in it. Its lightweight, easy to transfer to and from base and can be mounted easily on the stroller. I highly recommend!

First time parents approved
I've been using this car seat for 10 months and my daughter can still fit in it comfortably. I havent had any real issues at all. The only thing I haven't been a fan of is sometimes after the stroller has been folded for a while it can sometimes get stuck, but if that's the worst than Ill take it. Super light weight, and easy to use. Going to buy again in the future

Very unsatisfied with my purchase. The padding is coming apart in place. I feel for the price paid it could have held up better. I wanted to love this car seat but I can’t.. It is sad when cheaper car seats seem to uphold and last longer then the higher price one. I totally loved the style and look of the Rue but it hasn’t held up well at all and I’ve only been using it for three months, and I don’t feel like it tightens in well enough doesn’t feel secure enough for my baby.

Love this Joie car seat now all I have to do is get the stroller. Appears to be very comfortable for my baby girl. Has the newborn inserts which is perfect. love this car seat
it is so lightweight which is so perfect for me and i love the padding it has, definitely protects baby and it such a easy install. i also really like how far the canopy extends as actually covers baby from the sun but also has breathable mesh so baby doesn’t get overly hot. i love love this car seat as a first time mom i got this along with the joie ginger LX stroller and i’m in loveeee definitely recommend
